Gem of a Panelist at GJSCI
The Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) had conducted a seminar titled 'Imparting knowledge through digitization' at the opening day of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) on 6th August 2015. The topic touched upon the various facets of technology and its correct and efficient usage to empower e-learning in the context of gem and jewellery industry.
The seminar was moderated by Mr. Binit Bhatt. Dr. Farida Virani, Professor & Head of Department, HR & Behavioural Science, MET Institute of Management, Mumbai, discussed the role and relevance of e-mentors/teachers to ease and enhance the e-learning process. With relevant academic and corporate examples she deliberated upon the informational, psychosocial and instrumental benefits of e-mentoring. She also mentioned impartiality and an egalitarian environment as valuable attributes of e- mentoring.
Nilay Yajnik, from NMIMS a professional in the field of program management, learning services and business development; Prashant Deshpande, from Reliance, a specialist in areas of leadership and skill development; Ambarish Datta, executive director of BFSI Sector Skill Council of India were the other eminent panelists sharing their experience in the field of digitization of learning.
