At MET, placements create record

40% rise over last year

75% of last year's companies return this year

Just a few days into MET placement season and record creation has already begun. The MBA salary packages at MET have shown a 40% rise over last year, patron companies include BA Continuum Solutions (P) Ltd ., Tata Consultancy Services, Darashaw & Co., Pantaloon, Nicholas Piramal, Taj Group, CRISIL, Edelweiss Capital limited, naukri.com, Standard Chartered Bank, Morgan Stanley, Hansa Research Group, Reliance Radio, Gridstone Research, FCB Ulka, Willis Insurance amongst a host of others.

Speaking about the stupendous success, a beaming Prof. Vijay Page says, "Our alumni have consistently added value to their organisations and moved up the ranks faster. This has created an impact in the minds of the industry at large and thus causing them to prefer MET students," Prof. Page is the Director General of MET Schools of Management. "Our placement department strives to achieve the right job fit that will be mutually beneficial. Thus the focus is completely on ensuring that the students get placed in companies where they fit in intellectually and culturally," highlights Brig. (Retd.) M K Nag, Director – MET Asian Management Development Centre.

"A unique feature of this year's placement programme is that none of us had to go to the companies and make presentations, the institute built up meaningful industry interface throughout the year as a result of which the Placement cell contacted the companies who were only too happy to come over and recruit" said Sadaf Khan, MET Management student who has been absorbed by Darashaw & Co.

"We have a Psychometric Assessment Centre that assesses our potential at the beginning of the first semester itself. Our in-house psychologist then handholds us throughout our stay at MET. She even helped me choose my specialisation and helped me identify key strengths and overcome my weaknesses" says Prerak Parekh, MET Management student. "The culture at MET is extremely transparent, warm, friendly and approachable. I would strongly recommend MET to any student who wants to make it big in life" he says confidently.

"The content of most MBA programmes across the board is more or less the same, it is the pedagogy and emphasis on soft skills that makes a difference. Our students are known to be assertive, knowledgeable and global in their outlook. It is due to this that they are in popular demand and companies keep returning to our campus" says Prof. Alok Sharma, Head Placements – MET Schools of Management.

"Being a Mumbai University programme, the syllabus of MMS programme is uniform across colleges, but at MET the pedagogy, industry interface, excellent faculty and world-class infrastructure gives us the cutting edge. MET gave us an opportunity to interact with excellent visiting faculty who ensured that we are in sync with the latest trends in the industry. Our faculty took efforts to mentor and guide us constantly. Latest modules were included as extra lectures all this so that we are sharper than the rest" said Giribala Shah, MET MMS student who has accepted the offer from BA Continuum Solutions (P) Ltd.

"Under the MET Life Management Threshold Programme, our Management students are allowed to enter the industry during the fourth semester itself, lectures are held during the week-ends. This concept has been extremely well-received by the corporates since they can train them much faster, at the same time, the students are able to come back to the classrooms with experiences they can share and add to group learning. The professors act as mentors during this process" says Sunil G Karve, Founder Trustee and Vice Chairman.

"I am extremely excited to join Darashaw, the best part is that I will be joining my new job next month itself and my professors will be there to guide me till the end of my fourth semester. This is an excellent feature in our MBA programme and will surely help me to be industry ready much faster than the others" says a happy Shefali Jain, MET Management student.

At MET, students are treated as managers under training. Training is imparted round-the-clock, seven days a week. Projects and assignments are given utmost importance and students learn on the job. Application oriented knowledge, garnered in the lecture halls, is applied to industry assignments. The faculty spares no effort to make the students razor sharp, so they make their mark in the corporate world.

"When I came to know that I was selected for BA Continuum Solutions (P) Ltd I just could not believe it. It was tough to contain my happiness and remain calm when I was told my package. The UN internship, other projects from MET along with mentoring system followed here have contributed to making me what I am today. I am extremely thankful to MET" says Adit Dawda, MET Management student.
