Mr. Omar Qureshi, the current Editor – in - Chief at Zoom TV, the leading bollywood channel, who was formerly the writer/ editor of India's best known film entertainment magazine, 'Stardust', was at MET. Omar Qureshi captivated the MET Mass Media M9 students with a brilliant talk followed by a Q & A session. He took the students down memory lane as he spoke about his first experience as an intern writer to his rapid rise to the top by sheer hard work, creative thinking and editorial skills.
Omar also pointed out how he used his superb celebrity relations to create mini brands and association for Magna and since 1999, for the TOI Group as Editor - Indiatimes Entertainment/Movies. He made the web traffic score among the highest amongst Indian websites. Peppered with humour and insightful analysis, he highlighted the creation of the Integrated Marketing Group (IMSG) for Times via rapport, relationships and 22 years of goodwill with the industry. Omar also launched his own Entertainment Company for Content Syndication across media. Creation of Movie Script division and Blog content to generate revenues through mobile, online and TV syndication and Consultancy.
