Sharp Business Insight

After having gone through a rigorous selection procedure, four MET management students were given the opportunity to work with Piramal Healthcare as summer interns. These students were Kartik Mantha – Marketing, Shruti Patwardhan – HR, Mangesh Deshpande – Operations and Pinaki Mukherjee – Marketing.

MET students demonstrated exceptionally sharp business insights while working as part of groups to complete three projects with three different divisions of  the company. They successfully achieved the given project objectives: to make MMBB (Marketable Molecules & Building Blocks or APIs) a Rs. 1000 cr division keeping in mind the non compete with innovators strategy of CMG (Custom Manufacturing Group), Master branding template for Smart kids range and Opportunity Assessment and Business Plan for True Care Chronic Division.

Displaying the might of the razor sharp minds these students then made final project presentations to the panel that comprised of Mr. Ajay Piramal - Head, International Business and Chairman, Mr. Praneet Singh - Chief Operating Officer besides other eminent corporate personalities. MET students found place amongst the most deserving candidates and were part of the winning teams that won the first prize - cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- and the trophies, and also the second prize that included Rs. 50,000/- cash and the trophies. The winning teams were felicitated by the Chairman Mr. Ajay Piramal in person in the presence of Mr. Praneet Singh, COO - Piramal Healthcare and Mr. Sanjay Muthal, President - HR.

The best was yet to come when all the MET students were also given the job offers by Piramal Healthcare. Kartik Mantha and Pinaki Mukherjee bagged the Pre Placement Offers (PPO) at 6.0 lacs p.a. while Mangesh Deshpande and Shruti Patwardhan were given Pre Placement Interviews (PPI).

Well done future managers! This proves once again that MET students are a cut above the rest.
