METís PGDM students Aniket Singh, Vihit Bhalsod, Pankaj Thakur and Vaibhavi Memaya clinched first position at INSIGHT 2014, the marketing conclave of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, beating 54 teams including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, Sydenham, Symbiosis, KJ Somaiya to name a few. INSIGHT is now in its 27th edition and it is the oldest festival of IIM-A. This year INSIGHT received an overwhelming response from over 200 B-Schools across India.
Amongst a series of 7 events, MET participated in Star Manager, Sports Strategic Management competition comprising of 3 rigorous rounds, out of which the first two rounds were held online and final round was held at IIM Ahmedabad campus. Only six teams made it to the final round including team Libertines from MET Mumbai, led by Aniket Singh, which topped both the rounds and was ready to compete with IIM A in the finals. Final round was divided into two parts, first being a small presentation followed by a Focused Group Discussion. MET put up an excellent show which helped them to take the lead. All the finalists were expected to make a presentation on building a successful sports league and a sustainable franchisee model to build awareness and welfare of football across India. They were to be judged on various parameters by Mr. Vinit Karnik, Managing Director of Group M. MET excelled in the presentation and was acknowledged for their valuable inputs and insights shared during their presentation.
MET PGDM team was adjudged the winners at Star Managers defeating IIM A, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and KJ Somaiya in the finals. This is yet another feat achieved by the students of MET after having secured runner up position in INSIGHT 2013 and being adjudged as 2nd runner up at Branding Quiz in Confluence. Interestingly, Aniket Singh and Vihit Bhalsod have clinched victories at IIM A campus twice within a year.
Kudos to MET PGDM students! The sharp minds have indeed made the mark.
