An initiative to create citizens’ awareness on Dengue has been taken by MET IOP alumni, Mr. Rushil Bhatt, who is also currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Virology, Haffkine Institute. He is working on Dengue virus pathology under the guidance of renowned seniors. This team intends to empower people with wholesome awareness about dengue; which includes virus, vector, steps that can be taken to prevent the spread of disease, disease pathology and treatment measures. This awareness campaign began on 15th August 2013 and is going, and includes survey, presentations, brochure distribution and awareness information through social sites. Till date, hundreds of students at various institutions have been educated by the MET alumni Rushil who is passionate about such social initiatives. He says, “This initiative is helping the citizens to monitor and control the breeding sites of mosquitoes, understand the symptoms of Dengue infection and in totality reduce the bio-burden of the disease". MET is proud of you!
