MET cha ‘Raja’
Environment is a top most concerned issue in today’s world. Celebrating festivals without harming the environment is the latest cry. A team of four, led by MET Institute of Management student Pratik Nayak, second year MMS (Finance), made an effort to contribute to the society. They started making Ganpati from Paper Mache, Edible Glue and Whitening Powder since last four years. Their effort also contributed in spreading awareness to use Eco-friendly Ganpati Idol and Eco-friendly Decoration during Ganesh Utsav.
The Idols made by them were installed at various societies and colleges. The work was appreciated by many and they were awarded a Special Prize for this unique Idol & Eco-friendly Decoration By ‘I Love Mumbai’ and ‘Giants Group of Chowpatty’ in the recent past. Moreover, they were so impressive this year that they were rewarded with coverage on the prestigious website of ‘The Wall Street Journal’,(http://tinyurl.com/mu9gqnq) certainly a proud moment for all of us.
‘The willingness to do creates the ability to do’, this reflected throughout the efforts of Pratik and team to contribute for the society. Out of so many Rajas of Mumbai, the small eco-friendly Raja prepared by Pratik and his team was one of the highlights of Mumbai on this Ganesh Chaturthi.
