MET Wins Cricket Trophy

I.M.P.A.C.T is the acronym for Inter MMS-PGDM Annual Cricket Tournament. It is an inter B-school cricket tournament organised by Welingkar Institute Of Management Development and Research (We School),  held for students of the 2 year full time MMS & PGDM courses on March 12, 2012 at the Matunga Gymkhana Grounds.

After a great performance put up by the MET Cricket team at the I.M.P.A.C.T  2011, there was great expectation from the team this year too. The MET team kicked off the tournament well by beating the Sydenham team in the opening match. The MET team also went on the win the second league match against K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research to book their place in the knock out stage. With 2 wins in the group stage, the quarter-final match was against Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies, in which MET team scored a massive 296 runs - the highest total of the tournament that led to the great victory by 197 runs.

Semi-final match was against the runner up of the 2011 tournament - Atharva Institute of Management Studies. A wonderful bowling spell restricted them to 180 runs and a flawless batting performance resulted into MET winning the semi final by 5 wickets. The final was played against Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management in which MET finished the tournament as runner up.

It proves that MET champion can performs extraordinary well in the boardroom as well as in the sports ground.
