MET management team of six students participated at the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA), which was conducted by Rotary District 3140 on November 21, 2010 for the leading B Schools across Mumbai. This event is held every year across 48 countries comprising of more than 400 conferences.
The event was an authentic re-enactment of the actual General Assembly. All teams debated enthusiastically on the three resolutions namely, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), Currency Devaluation and Conflict Diamonds.
MET management students were divided into two teams during the event. One team represented USA, comprising of Varun Thakkar, Dewang Vyas and Rohan Dani won the coveted Best Team Runner-Up award. While the other team represented Vietnam, comprising of Mayur Vemula, Aashish Agarwal and Rahul Parekh won the Best Researched Team award. In addition to this, Ashish Agarwal also received an Individual Merit of Recognition for his contribution to an amendment submitted. All six members showed exemplary debating skills.
MET bagged the highest number of awards at the event, comprising of individual and team effort.
