International Women’s Day – 2011

MET League of Colleges celebrated the International Women’s Day with its ever eternal enthusiasm, enjoyment, glamour and gaiety on March 8, 2011.

Smt. Meenatai Bhujbal, Chairperson - MET, felicitated and honoured a renowned vocalist, disciple of Pdt. Phiroze Dastur of Kirana Gharana and winner of Sanskriti Darpan Puraskar, Smt. Uttara Vishram Kelkar, who has also won the best playback singer of the year 2010.  Mrs. Vishakha Pankaj Bhujbal - MET, felicitated Ms. Meera Mahadevia, a very vibrant and leading international fashion designer of accessories.

This year the program was novel as it brought to MET a very popular live show. The hilarious Marathi comedy play, ‘Sakkhe Shejari’ amused the audience and had them in splits of laughter. Scripted by Sai Paranjpe, the play had artistes of very high caliber. It was produced and directed by Mr. Sudhir Bhatt who is known for keeping the Marathi theatre alive in this era.

Mr. Vinay Mandke, Coordinator, MET World of Music and Prof. (Mrs.) Tandon of MET Institute of Management coordinated the entire program.
