METís Winsome Foursome!

Teams of MET management students participated in four various mega intercollegiate competitions organised by IES on March 10 & 13 – 15, 2012 titled ‘Pratyush’12’. There were over 50 teams from across the top leading B Schools like JBIMS, Welingkars, Sydenham, N L Dalmia, Nirma, Khalsa, NMIMS and many more.

1. ‘Asmanjass’ a case study presentation on Federal Bank, the questions pertaining to the case study aimed at finding out ways and means, by which Federal Bank could expand, in the current market conditions and how it could retain its customers. The competition also involved a SWOT Analysis of Federal Bank. The team was judged on the basis of their content and the strategies implemented. MET management student Uday Patel, Rohan Batra won the 2nd prize in the case study presentation.

2. ‘Eco-Gnizance’ the competition was based on the concept of best-out-of-waste. The participating teams have to submit their business plan before the events. During the competition the qualifying teams were then called for a business presentation and interviewed by the panellists. The teams were judged on the feasibility and financial viability of the plans they had prepared. MET management team Uday Patel, Mahdiah Fallah, Rohan Batra won the 1st prize in the business plan competition.

3. ‘Mad Venture’ the competition is about marketing, advertisement and selling concepts. The event consists of three rounds (1) Bhago-Mohan-Pyaare - ‘Q & A’ round about marketing and brand management concepts. (2) Bech-Bhai-Bech - As the name suggests, participating teams were given 5 products to sell to students of the IES College. These included adult diapers, Itch Guard, Red Roses, Fair & Lovely fairness cream and an abstract product. (3) Spoof 'em up - Participants were given a product (Itch Guard) and asked to make an advertisement for it, by spoofing a movie scene. At the end of 3 rounds, points were tallied and the MET management team Uday Patel, Mahdiah Fallah, Rohan Batra scored the highest points and won the 1st prize.

4. ‘Through the Lens’ this competition is about capturing emotions through camera. The participating teams have to capture pictures on any one of the following themes: ‘Lonely’, ‘Bandra’ and ‘Madness’. MET management team choose the theme ‘Lonely’. The photographs taken were to be displayed in the form of a presentation. The teams were judged on parameters such as photography skills, the thought process, creativity and presentation skills. MET management team Adnan Khan, Prashant Giani, Karishma Gupta won the 1st prize.
