Business Excellence Study – 2009
‘Business Excellence Study– 2009 is a unique initiative of the MET Schools of Management. It is based on the TATA Business Excellence Model -TBEM, introduced by Mr. Ratan Tata in the TATA Group in the nineties to commemorate JRD Tata. The objective of this study was to help students to understand the principles of “Business Excellence” and prepare them to adopt and follow right management approaches and principles through their corporate journey. The case study method was adopted to share the concept of TBEM in eight interesting and engrossing sessions.
The above programme was held on November 5th, 2009 at MET to recognize those students who had successfully completed the ‘Business Excellence Study– 2009’ with Mr. T. R. Doongaji –Dean Business Excellence.
The programme began with a welcome to the Director General METIM - Prof. Vijay Page, Director Admin. – Brig. M.K. Nag & Mr. T.R. Doongaji, the Mentors – Prof. Nitin Kulkarni, Prof. Sandeep Chopde & Prof. Pranjal Muley as well as all the faculty & students present.

Mr. T.R.Doongaji then presented his insights on the model and stated that his basic objective in sharing his own learnings from the model with the students was to better prepare them and give them an edge as they entered corporate life. He hoped that what was shared through the eight sessions would trigger the right thoughts and actions by students as they encounter various challenging situations in their careers.
Thereafter, the students shared their individual learnings from each of the eight sessions, followed by an overall learning experience.
