MET - Mumbai Connects with Calpoly University - US via Video Conferencing

It was sharp 9.30 am on February 12, 2010 at MET Complex, Mumbai when the 30 students of the MET Institute of Management got connected to another 30 students who were anxiously waiting for them at 8.00 pm at Calpoly University, California.

The discussion began with the two group leaders Jason from Calpoly and Riddhi from MET introducing their respective institutes, their location, and their courses conducted. Jason was reminiscent of their visit to MET last year and the cricket match played between the two teams then. The others soon joined in discussing the curriculum, their faculty and the co-curricular activities like industry projects, guest lectures by corporate, industrial visits, etc.

The conversation meandered through topics like economic growth rates, emerging nations, stock markets, recession, job scenarios, global businesses, placement activities and even movies like 'My name is Khan'.

They exchanged talks on how the students spent their life as a management graduate. They discussed the nature of work, the number of hours spent in lectures and projects, whether they had student committees and student groups for extra curricular activities; and if they participated in inter B-school competitions, etc.
The event was initiated by Prof. (Mrs.) Tandon from the MET Institute of Management with the help of Ms. Riddhi Shah and Mr. Kamal Vora both senior marketing students.
