MET Celebrates 65th Republic Day
MET celebrated India's 65th Republic Day on 26th January, 2014 with great
pomp and show. The ceremony, which wowed a huge crowd this time opened with
the traditional march past by the security guards, signifying a tribute to
India's military might. The great freedom fighter Shri Anant Laxman Gurav
unfolded India's tri-colour glory - the National Flag. Dr. Vijay Page,
Director General, MET IOM addressed the audience with his welcome speech.
Shri Anant Laxman Gurav and Smt. Laxmi Dattaram Mhaskar, wife of Shri
Dattaram, who courageously defended India's frontiers, were felicitated.
They engaged the audience with their real life incidents and experiences
during India's freedom movement. The occasion marked India's cultural
diversity with spectacular dance and singing performances by the students of
MET and MRV. Renowned classical artiste, Mr. Prakash Pawar captivated the
audience with his stunning Kathakali performance. Pride, colour and
patriotic zeal filled the air.
