Disease prevention is the key to good health. It is always better to prevent a disease than to treat it. With this motive a mass immunization drive across the MET campus was organised by MET IOP. It is known that Typhoid is the 5th most common communicable disease in India. Whereas researches prove that in our country one in every twenty persons is a Hepatitis B virus 'carrier'. Accidental contacts with such 'carriers', who are unaware about the virus they are harbouring, can transmit the virus to others. Having learnt this, MET IOP decided to have a vaccinations drive against Typhoid and Hepatitis B on Aug 08, 2009 for its staff, students and faculty as part of MET’s 2 Decade Celebration. On this occasion over 250 doses were administered. |
