Sharp MBAs from the leading B schools competed to win at the MET Congruence 2010
MET Schools of Management hosted two day mega intercollegiate meet ‘MET Congruence’ on October 5 & 6, 2010 at the MET Convention Centre. The meet was inaugurated by Trustee - MET League of Colleges. This B school meet had featured events like the Olympian Harbour – The mega management event, Knights of Congruence – The cutting edge leadership game and Newton’s Tertius – Business strategy & innovation game. The sharp MBAs had congregated to innovate and lead at the MET Congruence to furnish a chance to use their wit, knowledge and passion, to prove their mettle in varied aspects like decision making, creativity, self–confidence, business acumen and leadership skills. The main objective of Congruence was to showcase how every fragment of any establishment contributes to attain glory and prosperity that is undivided. Thirty-Eight MBA teams from the leading B schools across Mumbai like JBIMS, NMIMS, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, SIES, Thakur, Chetana’s to name a few participated at the MET Congruence 2010.
The major attractions of the event were Olympian Harbour, Newtons Tertius, Knights of Congruence and Symposium. Olympian harbour was divided into three parts viz., Canvass - the poster presentation round, Infero - Product Prototyping round and Colloquim - a round of panel discussion. Eminent stalwarts from the industry were invited to judge these rounds. Some of the prominent judges include Mr. M.K. Sharma, former Vice Chairman -HUL, Board of Director of ICICI, Bata ,TATA AIG; Mr. V. P. Kamath, CEO - Apollo Hospitals; Mr Neville Noronha CEO – DMart, Ms. Gaynor Pais, CEO - IRFT, Mr. Ajit Patnaik, VP-HR, TATA Telecommunications, Mr. Rajesh Chagwani, VP - Kotak & Mahindra, Ms. Anjana Grewal, VP Marketing & Sales - Birla Sunlife Insurance, Mr. Neerav Gandhi, Manager - ITC Welcome Group of Hotels, Ms. Archana Tomar, VP - Blue Lotus Communications, Mr. Deepak Vaze, VP - UTV Broadcasting, Ms. Rolly Arora, Regional Head - UTV, Mr. Rajesh Kovil, National Head – Business & Development - TATA Teleservices to name a few.
The other two events, Knights of Congruence and Newtons Tertius comprised of a management quiz, global commodity trading game and business strategy game, which provided participants an unparallel chance to use their wit and knowledge, take a lead and succeed. MET Congruence culminated in a grand finale at the Convention Centre. Dr. Rajan Welukar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor - Mumbai University was invited as the chief guest. The team from SIES were the winner of the event and a team from MET were runner up. The winners were given a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, trophy and certificate of ‘Excellence through Congruence’. Runner up were given a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, trophy and certificate of ‘Excellence through Congruence’. Cash prizes worth Rs. 12,000 and certificates were won by various other winners during the competition. Finally, Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee - MET League of Colleges proposed a vote of thanks to all those who made the event such a grand success.
