The Vista to METís Victory

It was a moment of celebration at MET when Ishan Kelvalkar, Ninad Kamble and Kunal Garad, first year management students from MET IOM, ranked 4th amongst 6th finalists at Vidheyak - the public policy competition at Vista 2012, the annual international business summit of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB). Held on 28th to 30th September 2012, Vista, the annual international business summit of IIM, Bangalore, is amongst the biggest mega-events organized throughout the length and breadth of the country. Vidheyak, the public policy competition at Vista by IIMB presents a unique opportunity for students, to come and put forth individual views on what India needs to do on key public policy issues, facing the country today. Vidheyak is a forum to compete and interact with the top minds in the country about what steps need to be taken, to make India a better place to live in. This event tests participants’ understanding on key public issues and evaluates their approaches to 'be the change'.

Over 800 students, from the top leading B School across the world, participated in this event. The first round of Vidheyak event was online submission of views by answering 4 key questions. Participating in an international business summit as a finalist and making presentation on Indian performance evaluation System (RFD), in front of Juries Ram Mohan itself was a lifetime opportunity to MET students. The appreciation and grooming tips from the judges boosted students’ confidence. The competition was tough, but MET students secured 4th rank to be amongst finalist like IIMs and XLRI. MET management students also received appreciation for their in-depth analysis, research and out of box solution for improving existing system. The interaction with the students and faculty from across the globe, including countries like Belgium, Ukraine, and Caribbean gave MET students the international perspective. It was indeed a fulfilling and enriching contest.
