MET management student Darshana J Dave, eMBA - 1st year received the first position in an event called ‘The AD Mad Show’ which was held at the JBIMS festival Prayaag on 27th October, 2009. The top leading B Schools like JBIMS, Somaiya, Welingkar, SIMSREE and many more participated in this event. This event was sponsored by Gitanjali a premium jewellery brand with a luxury market ruler such as Nakshatra and an affordable luxury market ruler as Gili. Gitanjali is the company would come up with variants like watches, leather bags, and goggles in the near future, for which the participants were expected to present an advertisement. The first round consisted of making a paper advertisement by using a pencil, card paper, crayons and one’s imagination. In the second round, the team was expected to act out the advertisement as a television commercial. The main attraction of the advertisement that was prepared by Ms. Darshana Dave was a Hindi poem that won the first prize and was appreciated by the judges for its creativity and universal appeal.  The poem could be used in any of the Gitanjali campaigns in the near future. The Poem is as follows.

“Rukti hai, Kuch keh kar seham jati hai,
Kabhi kal ko sochkar kho jati hai,
Kabhi aaj me reh jati hai,
Kabhi ruthke mujse dur chali jati hai,
Phir bhi jab me mudke dekhata hu,
Mere paas hamesha nazar aati hai.
Us humsafar ke naam Gili ka yeh thofa”

Another MET management student, Ms. Payal Mehta from the eMBA 2009-2011 batch, won accolades for the Institute by bagging the third prize in the Marketing Plan Contest conducted by Gitanjali Lifestyle, organised under the aegis of Prayag by JBIMS, Mumbai. The competition involved analysing the global scenario, revamping its brand, and creating the strategy and ads for its growth,
