Mumbai Educational Trust conducted FDP Workshop Series – II: Contemporary Trends in
Research, AI, and Innovative Learning. The FDP was organised for 5 days to be held between
16th - 20th December 2025.
On the First day of FDP Workshop, MET was honoured to host Dr. Ashok Sarkar, Senior
Faculty, SQC & OR Unit, Mumbai, Indian Statistical Institute, for an enriching academic session
on Quantitative Research Tools and Techniques. The session was conducted as part of the
Faculty Development Programme on Contemporary Trends in Research, AI, and Innovative
Learning, focusing on strengthening research capabilities and methodological rigor among MET
faculty.
The session provided valuable insights into advanced quantitative research methodologies,
data-driven decision-making, and their increasing relevance in contemporary academic
research and innovative learning practices. Dr. Sarkar’s expertise, practical perspectives, and
engaging delivery made the session intellectually stimulating and highly impactful for all
participants.
On the day 2 MET welcomed Dr. Keyurkumar M. Nayak, Director, Garware Institute of Career
Education and Development, University of Mumbai, for an enriching session on Quantitative
Research under the FDP Workshop Series – II: Contemporary Trends in Research, AI, and
Innovative Learning, held on Day 2, 17 December 2025.
With more than 25 years of rich academic and industry experience, over 80 research
publications, and strong expertise in research methodology and advanced analytical tools, Dr.
Nayak offered valuable insights into data-driven research practices and contemporary
quantitative techniques. His hands-on approach, supported by extensive global training
experience and academic leadership, made the session highly engaging and meaningful for
MET faculty.
Mumbai Educational Trust was privileged to host Dr. Omprakash Mandge, Principal In-charge,
MET Institute of Computer Science, for an insightful session under the FDP Workshop Series –
II: Contemporary Trends in Research, AI, and Innovative Learning, conducted on Day 3 and
Day 4 (18th & 19th December 2025).
With over 21 years of academic experience, Dr. Mandge shared valuable perspectives on the
application of Artificial Intelligence in research and education, drawing upon his deep expertise
in Data Science and AI. His session offered faculty members a practical and forward-looking
understanding of how emerging technologies can enhance teaching, research, and academic
innovation.
His engaging and thought-provoking contribution added significant value to the FDP series and
enriched the learning experience for MET Academicians.
On Day 5, Mumbai Educational Trust was honoured to host Dr. Ajita Deshmukh, Assistant
Professor at MIT Art, Design & Technology University, Pune, for an engaging session on Game-
Based Learning under the FDP Workshop Series – II: Contemporary Trends in Research, AI,
and Innovative Learning.
An expert in ICT-integrated pedagogy, Dr. Deshmukh shared valuable insights on integrating
games, art, and storytelling to create meaningful and learner-centric educational experiences.
Her extensive academic and industry exposure, along with her contributions to MOOCs, NCERT
projects, and the UNESCO OE4BW initiative, added depth and relevance to the session.
Through hands-on examples such as Tic-Tac-Toe and cooperative learning strategies, Dr.
Deshmukh demonstrated how game-based learning can be seamlessly integrated into
classrooms. Her practical approach empowered faculty members with simple yet effective
techniques to actively engage learners, making classroom interactions more lively, meaningful,
and impactful.
