A webinar on ‘Data science and its application and scope’ was organized by MET Institute of International Studies. Data Science is one of the leading vocations today and is expected to develop in scope in the coming two decades. Data refers to raw assumed facts making the basis of reasoning or calculation and data science is a scientific way of extracting relevant information from the given data.

This program under the auspices of ‘Knowledge Series’ was held on 25th February 2022 with Dr Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET Institute of Computer Science, being the resource person & speaker.

Dr. Banubakode guided the students in the aspects of the application of Data Science to the business world. The session was well designed and students understood the practical applications of the subject with the help of real world examples of its usage in companies such as Netflix and other OTT channels. The session drive deeper into how companies use descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive and predictive analysis of data to solve their topical problems and streamline their strategy.

The session was hosted and conducted by students of MET Institute of International Studies, Keyur Kiritkant and Anannya Surve. The students expressed their gratitude towards Dr. Abhijit Banubakode for this thought provoking session and Dr, Seema Tatwawadi, Director, MET Institute of International Studies for conceptualizing the ‘Knowledge series’.
