MET Institute of Computer Science inaugurated "AARAMBH 2026 - The Induction Programme for its incoming MCA 2026-28 batch on 11th September 2026. The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp in the presence of esteemed guests followed by a welcome address by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust.

The campus buzzed with energy as we welcomed the new batch of aspiring tech leaders. From inspiring sessions to opportunities for collaboration and growth, AARAMBH marked the beginning of an exciting journey into innovation and excellence!

MET Institute of Computer Science welcomed Dr. Vijay Thakare, Director, Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories, Home Dept., Govt. of Maharashtra. Dr. Thakare delivered the inauguration address, highlighting how digital forensics has become indispensable in solving crimes and safeguarding justice in an increasingly digital world.

During the event, MET Institute of Computer Science proudly presents its annual magazine, The Edge, themed around Ecolntellect - AI for Planetary Resilience. Curated and created by talented MCA 2025-27 students, this edition brings together thought-provoking articles, engaging features, compelling visuals, and creative graphics—reflecting the spirit of innovation and exploration at MET ICS.

Dr. Omprakash Mandge, Principal I/C, MET ICS, delivered an inspiring address during the Induction Programme of MCA 2026-28 batch, which started with a visualization exercise. He invited students to close their eyes and picture themselves two years from now — confident, accomplished, and in the professional world as MCA graduates. This exercise set a reflective and motivating tone for the rest of the session.

He went on to encourage students to embrace challenges and opportunities, urging them to dream big and pursue their goals. Dr. Mandge reassured the newcomers that they were not alone in this journey, emphasizing that the faculty and staff of MET ICS would be a constant pillar of support. His words left the students feeling motivated and reassured as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives.

MET Institute of Computer Science welcomed two of its distinguished alumni, whose journeys served as powerful testimonials to the value of the MCA programme.

Mr. Rohan Upadhyay, Director at SS&C GlobeOp, took the newcomers through his personal journey — from being an MCA student at MET ICS to rising to a leadership position in a global organization. He reflected on the foundational years spent at the institute, sharing how the skills and values instilled during his time here shaped his professional path, and offered practical insights into building a successful career in the corporate world.

Mr. Siddharth Jain, Founder and CEO, Techsimians India Pvt. Ltd., spoke about his entrepreneurial journey, tracing his path from a student at MET ICS to building his own venture. He emphasized how the fundamentals and core concepts taught during his MCA truly mattered in the real world, forming the backbone of his problem-solving approach as an entrepreneur. His address resonated strongly with students, reinforcing the idea that a strong academic foundation is key to long-term success, whether in a corporate role or as a founder.

Both addresses left the incoming batch inspired, offering them a glimpse of the diverse and rewarding paths that lie ahead after their MCA journey at MET ICS.

The Day 2 of AARAMBH 2026 - The Induction Programme began with Dr. Jyotsna Munshi, Director - Corporate Relations, MET, giving students a Placement Overview covering how the placement department supports the academics-to-industry transition.

This was followed by a Student Experiences Session, where MCA seniors shared first-hand accounts of academics, campus life, and placements, offering the new batch students relatable insight and easing their entry into college life.

The session concluded with a guest talk on "Current IT Industry Trends and Scenarios" by Mr. Shyam Bhavsar, Senior Software Engineer Specialist at Nasdaq, who shared an industry perspective on in-demand skills and where the IT sector is headed — setting the stage for the panel discussion that followed.

As part of AARAMBH 2026, The Panel Discussion "From Classroom to Corporate: Preparing for the Technology Industry" was coordinated by Ms. Pooja Potdar, Training & Placement Officer - Corporate Relations, MET and brought together MET MCA Alumni from diverse tech industry backgrounds to speak on the current state of the IT industry and how students can bridge the gap between academics and the workplace.

The panel of alumni included Mr. Akshay Gaikwad, Member of Technical Staff 2, Nielsen; Ms. Mrunmayi Shinde, Technical Account Manager, CleverTap; Mr. Sahil Darwajkar, Deputy Vice President, Edme Insurance Brokers; Ms. Gauravi Karekar, Senior Principal Engineer, Marsh & McLennan Companies; Mr. Shyam Bhavsar, Senior Software Engineer Specialist; Mr. Jamshed Irani, Head - ERP & Networking, MET; each bringing perspectives from their respective organizations and roles.

The Panelists spoke about the practical competencies employers look for beyond academic curriculum including hands-on technical skills, adaptability, communication, and problem-solving ability and shared guidance on how students can proactively prepare themselves during their course of study to make a smoother transition into the workforce. The session gave students a multi-perspective view of industry realities directly from professionals currently working across different tech domains. The discussion reinforced the orientation's broader theme of readying students for their careers ahead.
