MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) under the aegis of IQAC successfully concluded Day 2 of the two-day National Seminar and Poster Competition, “CosmoNext – Exploring the Art, Science and Trends of Cosmetics,” on 4th September 2026. The day featured five scientific sessions delivered by distinguished experts, providing participants with valuable insights into the science, formulation, technology, quality, and consumer perspectives of the cosmetics industry.
The sessions commenced with Mr. Oscar Pereira, Founder and Formulator, CodeSkin and Co-founder of Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals, who presented “Everything You Know About Skincare is Probably Wrong – Think Like a Formulator, Not Like a Consumer,” emphasizing evidence-based formulation and informed product evaluation.
Ms. Tanu Agrawal, Head of R&D, Bajaj Consumer Care Limited, discussed “The Science of Hair, Scalp and Cosmetics,” highlighting the scientific principles underlying hair and scalp care. Ms. Rupinder Kaur Rawat, Quality Head – India & SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products, explored “Behind Every Shade: The Science and Technology of Hair Colours,” focusing on technology and quality aspects of hair-colouring products.
Ms. Shilpa Mhatre, Founder of Red Carnelian Consulting, addressed “Consumer Insights – The Art & Science of Listening,” emphasizing the role of consumer understanding in successful product development. The final session by Dr. Sujata Sawarkar, Professor and HOD, Pharmaceutics, SVKM’s Bhanuben’s Nanavati College of Pharmacy (Autonomous), focused on “From Lab to Market: Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Practice,” highlighting the translation of academic research into practical innovations.
Overall, the sessions provided a meaningful integration of science, innovation, industry practices, and consumer needs, making the seminar an enriching academic experience.
