MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), under the aegis of IQAC, organised an intercollegiate poster presentation competition, “CosmoNext – Exploring the Art, Science and Trends of Cosmetics,” on 3rd September 2026. The event brought together students to explore the evolving world of cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, encouraging them to combine scientific knowledge, creativity, research and awareness of emerging industry trends. Participants presented their ideas on a diverse range of contemporary topics, fostering knowledge exchange and meaningful academic discussions.
The entries were evaluated on originality, relevance and presentation quality by an esteemed panel comprising Dr. Meenal Rane, Assistant Professor, SVKM’s BNCP; Dr. Prachi Charudatta Mehendale, Assistant Professor, C. U. Shah College of Pharmacy; Mr. Melroy D'Sa, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, SIES School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Dr. Geeta Bhagwat, Associate Professor, D. Y. Patil University School of Pharmacy. The competition provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their research communication and presentation skills while exploring innovations shaping the future of cosmetic science.
First place was secured by Ms. Tanshi Patel and Ms. Zenisha Vaghani from SVKM's BNCP Autonomous College for “Beyond the Blink: When Cosmetic Innovation Meets Ocular Safety.” Second place went to Ms. Riva Vishal Tombri, Ms. Shriya Sangekar and Mr. Kaif Qureshi from MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) for “Marine Derived Cosmetics,” while third place was awarded to Ms. Akanksha Ardad, Ms. Sana Ansari, Mr. Sahil Patil, Ms. Anushka Birari and Mr. Rudra Mhatre from Dr. L. H. Hiranandani College of Pharmacy for “From Skin-Brain Signalling to Skin Longevity: Emerging Role of Neurocosmetics in Anti-Aging.” The event reflected the enthusiasm, scientific curiosity and innovative thinking of students exploring new possibilities in cosmetic science.
