MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), under the aegis of IQAC and the Programme Committee, successfully organized a Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Holistic Pharmacy Education: Integrating Innovation, Technology and Artificial Intelligence” from 7th to 11th July. Conducted under the guidance of Dr. Abha Doshi, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree); Dr. Poonam Advani, Dr. Bhagyashri Joshi, and Ms. Sunanda Patil, Coordinated of Seminar Committee. The FDP brought together academicians, industry experts, and healthcare professionals to explore emerging trends in pharmacy education.
The programme featured expert sessions by Dr. Asmita Nimkar, Founder Nimkar 360 Pharma LLP, on Regulatory Affairs and the role of AI in regulatory processes and Dr. Sumedha Nadkar, Strategic Advisor Viridis Biopharma, on the transformative impact of AI in pharmaceutical research, education, and innovation. Dr. Rashmi Srivastava, Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), introduced participants to RagaRx and the therapeutic applications of Raga Chikitsa and Naad Chikitsa, while Mr. Santoshh Ghatpande, Ms. Isha Sane, and Ms. Sneha Nene, Music Therapists, demonstrated the benefits of Music Therapy interventions. Dr. Omprakash Mandge, Principal In Charge, Principal MET Institute of Computer Science explained AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI, whereas Dr. Anjali Yeole, Deputy HOD VESIT, highlighted the importance of programming skills in developing logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
The FDP also included sessions by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Dean of Accreditations and MET Institute of PGDM, on Design Thinking and innovation-driven problem solving, and Dr. Poonam Advani, Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) on innovation tools and strategies for transforming ideas into impact. Dr. Sindhu Menon, Asst. Professor and Ms Vrushali Keer, Asst. Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), discussed about nutrition, holistic health, and phytopharmaceuticals and emphasized the integration of traditional wisdom with modern science. The programme concluded with a valedictory function and participant reflections, inspiring educators to embrace innovation, ethical AI practices, and learner-centric approaches for developing future-ready pharmacy graduates.
