MET Institute of Management organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on April 23, 2026. As a resource person for the session, Prof. Dulini Fernando from Aston Business School, Aston University, conducted a session on “Qualitative Data Coding and Analysis in Academic Research,” a critical domain for strengthening academic and doctoral research capabilities.
She outlined the key steps involved in developing high-quality research papers using a qualitative research design and drew upon her extensive experience of publishing in reputed international journals.
The FDP aimed to enhance faculty research competencies by offering structured and practical insights into data coding, thematic analysis, and interpretation within qualitative research.
The qualitative techniques are extensively used in behavioural sciences such as behavioural finance, HR and Marketing where detailed interview technique is used for capturing in-depth data from respondents to arrive at logical conclusion and develop new theories.
The session was highly appreciated by all participants.
