As part of the Finance Conclave 2026, MET Institute of Management (MET IOM) hosted thematic sessions on “FinTech, Investments & The Future of Financial Services,” featuring distinguished speakers who shared insights on India’s equity markets, economic growth, and the evolving financial technology landscape.
The first session was delivered by Mr. Biharilal Deora, Director at Abakkus Asset Manager Pvt. Ltd., on “India Equities: Opportunities and Risks, and the Road Ahead for Long-Term Investors.” He highlighted India’s strong GDP-led growth potential driven by rising domestic consumption, premiumisation, infrastructure development, and supportive policy measures. He also discussed India’s growing prominence as a global manufacturing hub and outlined market opportunities and risks shaped by policy factors including FTAs and the Union Budget.
The second session featured Dr. Jaijit Bhattacharya, Founder & President, Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research (C-DEP), who contextualised fintech within the broader technological transformation. Drawing from policy-level experience, he emphasized the importance of staying future-ready in financial services by leveraging AI, understanding digital advancements, and maintaining agility in a rapidly evolving ecosystem.
