MET Institute of Mass Media collaborated with Project Mumbai, I Volunteer, and Bhumi to host the Good Deeds Day (GDD) Fest 2026 on 9th May 2026, a first-of-its-kind city-wide volunteering festival focused on kindness, community engagement, and social impact.
The event brought together Students, NGOs, Volunteers, and Citizens through interactive activities, volunteering initiatives, and community-driven engagement programmes. The overall event programming, NGO curation, activity design, and execution were led by Project Mumbai, creating a meaningful platform for youth participation and civic action.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of Dr. Priya Menon Nair, Director, MET Institute of Mass Media, as a panel speaker for the discussion titled “Mumbai Gives Back: The Power of Us,” where conversations focused on volunteerism, collective action, and the role of youth in creating social change.
An appreciation frame was presented to Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET at the hands of Mr. Shishir Joshi, CEO of Project Mumbai and Founder of Mumbai Climate Week, in recognition of MET’s support towards community-driven initiatives and youth engagement.
Another proud moment of the event was the playing of the National Anthem produced by MET IMM students, reflecting creativity, collaboration, and socially conscious storytelling.
Good Deeds Day 2026 successfully showcased the power of partnerships between educational institutions and social organisations in creating impactful, experiential learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
The event was graced by Ms. Smita Inamdar, Project Mumbai Green Champion - A passionate changemaker who has shown how ordinary citizens can create extraordinary civic impact. Ms. Kriti Baijal, Head - CSR at L&T ENERGY Hydrocarbon offshore. And Mr. Abhishek Jain, Program Head - Volunteering at Reliance Foundation.
