MET Institute of Management hosted Arthshakti - Indian Union Budget Analysis organised by Centre of Excellence - Finance, on 2nd February 2026, to strengthen students’ understanding of the Union Budget 2026, its strategic direction and economic impact. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management, setting the tone for a knowledge-driven session.

In her opening address, Dr. Lodha highlighted the significance of budget analysis for management students, linking it to a stronger understanding of fiscal priorities, policy direction and India’s long-term aspirations for 2047.

The first keynote address was delivered by Mr. Anil Agrawal, Group CFO, Onix, who presented an in-depth analysis of key budget themes including fiscal consolidation, capex-led growth, expenditure prioritisation, tax reforms and the roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047, while also reflecting on the role of geopolitics in shaping national economies.

The second speaker, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Director – Capital Markets Policy (India), CFA Institute, shared insights on capital market policy and advocacy, explaining the concept of a “Dream Budget” and its role in supporting investor confidence and sustainable economic progress.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Rohini Andhare, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, organisers, faculty members and students for their participation and support.
