MET AMDC organised the “India’s Unity in Diversity – Destination Planning Competition” on 4th September 2026 as part of its Tourism Management curriculum.

The competition provided students with an opportunity to explore India’s rich heritage and cultural diversity through thematic presentations representing different states. Students incorporated traditional attire, dance, music, regional cuisine and other cultural elements into their presentations.

Adding a technology-driven dimension to the activity, students designed AI-enabled customised travel itineraries and curated regional food and accessory stalls. The initiative demonstrated how technology, personalisation and experiential elements can contribute to effective destination planning and tourism experiences.

The learning initiative provided practical exposure to destination planning, cultural tourism and destination marketing. The competition concluded with the West Bengal team securing the 1st Prize, Maharashtra team securing the 2nd Prize and Kerala team securing the 3rd Prize, recognising their creativity, cultural representation and effective application of tourism practices.
