MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) conducted an Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) activity in the form of a Juhu Beach Shore Walk for second-year Diploma in Pharmacy students on 18th December 2025, in collaboration with United Way Mumbai.
The initiative focused on sensitizing students to coastal biodiversity and environmental conservation. Guided by experts and environmentalists, the students explored the Juhu Beach shoreline and learned about diverse marine and coastal species, including shells, small crustaceans, birds, and other organisms commonly found in the intertidal zone.
The sessions emphasized the ecological value of coastal ecosystems, highlighted the harmful effects of pollution, and stressed the importance of adopting sustainable practices to safeguard marine biodiversity. The activity served as an experiential learning opportunity, encouraging students to develop environmental responsibility and social awareness alongside their academic pursuits.
The programme was conducted with the support and guidance of of Ms. Payal J. Chavan, Cultural In-charge and Lecturer, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), contributing to the smooth and successful completion of the ISR activity. Through such initiatives, MET continues to reinforce its commitment to holistic education and responsible citizenship.
