A class activity on Network Security Attacks was conducted by Prof. Flavia Gonsalves for MCA students at MET Institute of Computer Science on 7th March 2026.
The goal was to help students understand common Cybersecurity Threats. Students were divided into groups and each group was assigned a specific attack such as Denial-of-Service (DoS), phishing, malware, or password attacks. The groups discussed how these attacks occur, their impact on computer networks, and possible preventive measures. They also created simple scenarios to demonstrate how attackers exploit vulnerabilities in systems. Each group presented their findings and suggested security practices such as using strong passwords, firewalls, encryption, and improving user awareness.
The activity enhanced students’ understanding of cybersecurity threats and highlighted the importance of protecting networks.
