MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) conducted a workshop on - "Paralegal Volunteer Training Programme" in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority i.e DLSA and Global Care Foundation from 16th to 19th January 2023. The workshop was organized by the DLLE Coordinators Dr. Vijaya Patil, Ms. Vrushali Keer and Ms. Sindhu Menon.
The objective of the workshop was to create a legal consciousness and spread awareness about legal rights.The invited speakers were Adv. Vasant Bhanage, Adv. Shahnawaz Pathan, Adv. Sohail Sharif, Adv. Reecha Khajuria, Adv. Aileen Marques, Adv. Hafsa Khan, Prof. Rukaiya Joshi, Adv. Seema Adate.
Various topics such as Domestic Violence Act, Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, Government Schemes, Juvenile Justice Act were covered.
The training program consisted of a field visit to Byculla Prison, Nagpada Police Station and Gurgaon Court to understand the working and proceedings of the same as well.
