Rakhi Sale: Celebrating Sustainability & Social Responsibility

Rakhi Sale: Celebrating Sustainability & Social Responsibility

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), through its DLLE Committee, organised a Rakhi Sale Activity in association with Seva Vivek from 21st to 27th August 2026. The initiative aimed to support the tribal community by promoting their handmade and eco-friendly products while creating awareness about sustainable choices during the festive season.

A variety of handcrafted bamboo Rakhis embedded with plant seeds were showcased as part of the activity. The Rakhis, named Jhelum, Tansa, Ganga, Surya, Shanka, Kaveri, Narmada, Purna, Godavari, Tapti, Gomati, Sindhu and Triveni, offered a thoughtful combination of traditional craftsmanship and environmental consciousness.

Students actively participated in the sale and promotion of the eco-friendly Rakhis among students and staff. Their involvement helped encourage the adoption of sustainable festive products while supporting tribal artisans and their livelihoods, giving the initiative a meaningful social and community-oriented dimension.

The activity successfully combined the celebration of Raksha Bandhan with sustainability, social responsibility and community development. It provided students with an opportunity to contribute to a socially relevant cause and reinforced the importance of making conscious choices that benefit both communities and the environment.
