MET AMDC hosted a seminar on “Relevance of Geo-Politics from Business Managers’ Perspective,” offering students practical insights into how global events influence business strategy and trade.

CS Anant Amdekar, Independent Director, Cybertech Systems & Software Ltd., spoke about how wars reshape alliances, governance, and world trade, highlighting disruptions, inflation, and the cyclical nature of the global economy.

Mr. Rishi Kabra, Senior Research Analyst – Equity, Crisil Integral IQ discussed the weaponization of trade through sanctions, energy dependencies, and technology restrictions.

Adding academic depth, Ms. Dharmishta Gala, Assistant Professor, MET IOM, explained the impact of geopolitics on global supply chains, while MET alumnus Mr. Uday Mundhe shared perspectives on India’s rising strategic importance. Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, Associate Professor, MET IOM, provided historical context on geo-politics and its influence on power and culture.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A, reinforcing that geopolitical awareness is essential for today’s business managers.
