MET Institute of PGDM, through its Finance Club, successfully hosted the SMARTs Investor Awareness Program 2026 in association with SEBI on 12th August 2026. Led by Dr. Priyanka Dukhande, the session focused on strengthening students’ understanding of financial markets, with special emphasis on commodity derivatives and responsible investing.
Students gained practical exposure through a live exploration of the MCX platform and developed an understanding of key concepts including futures, hedging mechanisms, asset classes, commodity markets and factors influencing commodity prices. The session also covered important investor protection initiatives, including the SAARTHI App and SEBI’s Dharohar initiative, helping students understand the importance of informed and responsible participation in financial markets.
An engaging Q&A session allowed students to clarify their queries and explore the opportunities and risks associated with commodity markets. At MET Institute of PGDM, such industry-oriented learning experiences continue to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world financial practices and empower students to become informed, aware and responsible participants in the financial ecosystem.
