On 15th October 2026, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of MET Institute of Management organised “Tribute to the Missile Man of India” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, celebrating his inspiring legacy of innovation, creativity and scientific thinking.
The event was Mentored by MET Academicians; Prof. Sandesh Akre, Prof. Dharmistha Gala, Prof. Harshad Savant and Prof. Sachin Joshi under the leadership of Dr. Nilesh Gokhale, Director I/C, MET IOM.
As part of the activity, MMS students were divided into teams of six and challenged to develop innovative ideas and build Missile models without using AI. The activity encouraged independent thinking, teamwork, creativity, and practical problem-solving.
The highlight of the event was the final testing of all the models built by the students, where their ideas were put to the test to evaluate their functionality and practical application. It was an enriching experience that reinforced the importance of transforming ideas into practical solutions through collaboration, experimentation and out-of-the-box thinking.
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's vision continues to inspire young minds to dream big, innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.
