The Regional Convention – West, organized by the UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), was held on October 10, 2025, at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
Faculty members and Marketing students of MMS 2024–26 from MET Institute of Management attended the convention, which brought together distinguished speakers and industry leaders to discuss advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through responsible and inclusive business practices.
The convention, themed “Shaping the Future with ESG, AI & Innovation,” brought together over 250 leaders from business, government, and academia. Eminent speakers included Dr. Angela Lusigi, UNDP Resident Representative; Vaishali Nigam Sinha, President, UN GCNI & Co-Founder, ReNew; Prabodha Acharya, Chief Sustainability Officer, JSW Group; Dr. Nitin Dumasia, Founder, Growlity Inc.; and Akhil Anilkumar, Head – ESG, IDFC FIRST Bank, among others.
The sessions focused on AI-driven ESG practices, sustainable finance, green chemistry innovation, and youth-led sustainability initiatives. Students gained valuable insights into how technology and sustainability intersect to shape future business practices, enhancing their understanding of responsible leadership, ESG reporting, and climate innovation. The experience also offered meaningful exposure to industry perspectives on achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovation and collaboration.
