On 27th and 28th March 2025, students from MET Institute of Mass Media embarked on an enriching Industrial visit to Pune, organized under the leadership of Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar, Dean MET IMM, exploring three iconic institutions Sakal Media Group, All India Radio, and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
This immersive experience offered a deep dive into the dynamic workings of the media industry, especially how digitization is reshaping content creation, distribution, and audience engagement. At Sakal Media Group, students explored the evolving role of print Media in Remote areas. Importance journalism in today's changing landscape of media industry, while a visit to All India Radio provided real-time insights into the art of radio broadcasting, live announcements, and its enduring cultural significance.
The journey continued at the legendary FTII, where students witnessed the creative process behind filmmaking from scripting and theme selection to on-set shooting techniques. Walking through the historic campus was both inspiring and insightful, offering a first-hand feel of where many cinematic legends began their journey. This visit not only bridged academic knowledge with industry practice but also fueled aspirations, providing a clearer vision of the opportunities and innovations shaping the future of media.
