MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organised World Breastfeeding Week on 6th August 2026 as part of the nationwide observance from 1st to 7th August. The programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and infant health.
The session highlighted WHO recommendations on initiating breastfeeding within the first hour after birth and exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, along with its benefits for immunity, healthy growth and disease prevention.
The programme encouraged students and faculty members to spread awareness about breastfeeding and contribute towards building a healthier society.
