Seminar on Anti-ragging

On 4th February a seminar was conducted by the anti-ragging committee of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree). The fresher students were introduced to the term 'ragging', its forms and how it has affected the lives of students during the Covid pandemic. Since 2009, ragging is prohibited in Indian Educational Institutions under the UGC regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in Higher Educational Institutions. Such acts are punishable by a fine of up to Rs. 50,000 and jail terms ranging from six months to 10 years.

Behaviour considered as ragging was explained to the students in brief and how to overcome certain consequences was mentioned by providing helpline numbers and the website. The session ended by solving queries and Anti-ragging committee members were announced during the meeting to help students better.
