MMS Aarohan 2015 Induction Programme
The MMS Aarohan-2015, a 3-day Induction program was held from Thursday, 6th August, 2015 upto Saturday, 8th August, 2015 at the MET Convention Centre.
On the opening day, Thursday, August 6, Mr. Rajiv Vaishnav, Vice-President, Nasscom was the Chief Guest who spoke on the 'Opportunities in Digital India' - an interesting and very informative session. Dr. Vijay Page, Director General, MET Institute of Management then introduced the members of faculty and Course Co-ordinator, Dr. Sangeeta Tandon welcomed the new batch of Master in Management Studies students. Ms. Anupriya Nayyar, Management Consultant motivated the students on the topic 'Chase your Dreams' while MET Alumni Mr. Gautam Gulati, Chief Operating Officer, KIAH impressed the students with his words of wisdom.
The next day August 07, Dr. V. Kamath, Group Chief Operating Officer, NOVA Medical Centers Pvt. Limited spoke on the 'Emerging Trends in Marketing' that was a highlight of the day. It was followed by Ms. Ahalaya Samtaney's talk on 'Are you listening?' Prof. Cabral, Director HR, Total Solutions, discussed about 'Careers in HR'. MET Alumni, Mr. Vineet Upadhyay, Zonal Sales Manager - West, Smith & Nephew Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. gave an interesting presentation on the 'Service Sector – Current & Future'.
On the last day, Mr. Pradeep Patil, Executive Vice-President, Bajaj Electricals Ltd. gave a very inspiring talk on 'Rural India as the Emerging Economy' followed by Prof. Jay Acharya & Mr. Arvind Mehta who gave 'Management lessons from the Bhagvad Gita'. The Presentation by Cdr. Abhishek Kankan, Everest Climber, IIM Indore Alumni was impressive and called for a standing ovation! Last but not the least Mr. Amit Kochhar, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley engaged the students in a stimulating discussion on 'Emerging trends in Finance'.
Thereafter, from August 16 till August 19, 3 batches of students left for the Outbound program to Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Uttan, an overnight stay of experiential training conducted by the veteran Mr. Bhushan Lawande. They all had a great time as their learning was combined with fun and outdoor activity. They were trained for developing team spirit, leadership qualities, negotiation skills and interpersonal relations.
The students now look forward to the next two years of a very rich curriculum developed by MMS at MET.
