MMS Industrial Visit

 

On 18th March, around 100 MMS students of MET Institute of Management went for a one day Industrial Visit to Pune. Chaphekar Engineering Pvt Ltd. located in Hinjewadi, Pune was the first Company visited. They are into assembling of Commercial Vehicles. Students witnessed various processes carried out on the cargo bodies of vehicles. The students were addressed by Mr Suresh Sabharwal, VP (Projects) of the Company who explained to them about the techniques used and about the various innovations the company has introduced to be globally acknowledged. Tata, Mahindra and Mahindra, Govt of Maharashtra, Indian Army are some of their esteemed clients. Next company visited was Johnson Controls (India) Pvt Ltd - a Fortune 500 companies today. It provides all the interiors, accessories and especially designed customized car seats to Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra and Toyota. All the material used is indigenously manufactured. Students were acquainted with the various techniques used in planning, executing and controlling of the production. They were also shown how various operations techniques are Just In Time, Kaizen and fully backward and forward integrated under one roof. A good learning outside classroom.
