MRV to Yale University, New Haven, USA
Model United Nations, Jan. 24 - 26, 2016
MET Rishikul Vidyalaya, thirteen students of Grade VIII and IX participated in this edition of Yale Model United Nations. After a tour of the Yale University the students attended committee sessions of the Model United Nations. The committees deliberated on many urgent needs of the twenty-first century world. Amidst the MUN conference the student delegation got the opportunity to witness the Yale Day celebration which was marked by series of workshops. MRV contingent chose to attend the Ashok Network workshop. Ashoka Network is a change maker organization which accelerates lasting social change. Students confessed that their attitudes and views of complex social issues were changed following the workshops. The delegates of the committees were also the members of the General Assembly.
MRV students were vastly impressed by the architectural beauty of the Yale university building. The grandeur of its stone and mortar is no less impressive than its intellectual achievements. The USA offered a great sight-seeing opportunity. The Smithsonian Museum, the Statue of Liberty, the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial, the Capitol Hill, World War II Memorial, and the White House not only awed the young MRV delegates to Model United Nations by their majesty but also by what they stood for. No wonder the Yale MUN was a great learning experience for students.
