MRV at the Top!
MRV wins the Best Performing School Award – Visit from Sir Robert Swan
MET Rishikul Vidyalaya received the Best Performing School Award under the Project SEARCH by TERI – TETRA PAK. This victory is the result of MRV collecting the 95 kgs of Tetra Pak for recycling, and submitting the report of the same, along with the other environmental activities conducted throughout the year. The joy of the victory was doubled when MRV student Aryan Patil, Grade V, was selected as a Tetra Pak ambassador too; he is visiting Pune for a power interaction with Sir Robert Swan.
The day of the award began with a sense of pride for all at MRV. Everyone was thrilled to receive Sir Robert Swan, who was visiting MRV as the award for being the Best Performing School under the Project SEARCH.
Sir Robert Swan, OBE is a polar explorer, environmental leader and the first person ever to have walked to the North and South poles. He is an exceptionally gifted communicator and is regarded as one of the world’s top motivational speakers. His mission to educate the new generation about how they can help save the earth’s future was cleverly delivered with the typical British humor. The hour long session ended with an interesting Q&A session with the students and teachers, leaving them ever motivated and committed to the cause of environment.
Post Sir Swan’s visit to MRV, students of MET Rishikul Vidyalya participated in the Trash (Thinking, Reflecting, and Acting for a Sustainable Habitat) festival at Shishuvan School, Mumbai.
