Youngest social servers on the rolls!
Over 75 MRV kids skate to save water
In the past, Mumbai has been witness to innumerable rallies by politicians, NGOs, Mohalla Committees and even by individuals; but what makes this rally so very unique is the fact that over 75 MRV kids aged from 4 to 11 years would be skating to Save Water on March 06, 2010, starting at sunrise 6 am from Dadar Shivaji Park to MET Rishikul Vidyalaya via Cadell Road, Mahim Causeway and Bandra Reclamation, a distance of over 5 kms. “The objective of this rally is to highlight and upfront the water scarcity problem. In Mumbai, water is a rare commodity, particularly with poor monsoons and upcoming summer, water conversation drive has to be implemented”, says Principal of MRV.
Considering the present infrastructure conditions in the city, accomplishing this task is going to be a tough call for the children, but their sheer determination will definitely see them through. MRV kids have been undergoing intense training for the last 4 months under the guidance of their coach. Undoubtedly, it is an historic event for the city. The children are leading by example, making movements to spread the message of ‘Save Water, Save Earth’ in the city is a humbling experience. “The fact that the MRV children have been undergoing training energetically at our very own MET skating ring, preparing for spreading the messages all over the city, is a testimony that we have a new generation of social servers in the making” says Trustee – MET League of Colleges.
