‘Little Wonders Showcase the Spirit of Global Harmony’
Anandvan 2008 – A Grand Affair with a Social Message

MET Rishikul Vidyalaya lays a strong and equal emphasis on academics and co-curricular activities. For this very reason, out of the eight hours that the children spend at school, four hours is dedicated to extra – curricular activities during which academics is taught through the play - way method. All through the year the skillful teachers carefully identify the aptitudes of the children and accordingly build up a plan to develop that particular aptitude.
The final results of all these efforts are showcased during ANANDVAN - the Annual Day of MET Rishikul Vidyalaya. The biggest attraction is that MET Rishikul Vidyalaya’s ANANDVAN celebrations are coloured with a variety of performances.

The theme for Anandvan 2008, was ‘GLOBAL HARMONY’. The main intention was to pass the message of ‘Tolerance and Brotherhood’ which is the desperate need of the hour. MRV children spread the message of living together in peace and harmony by giving due and equal respect to each and every religion, globally.
Anandvan 2008 hightlights were the Vocal performances, Dances (Christ/ Allah/ Buddha/ Ganesha/ DevMalhari / Gypsy/ Ribbon/ Arabic and Spanish), Drama and A/V clips.

Children’s Day Celebration

As part of the SUPW curriculum (Socially Useful Productive Work), students from MET Rishikul Vidyalaya continuously interact with under privileged students from Aseema’s Pali Chimbai School. The aim is to groom MRV children into socially sensitive individuals. Volunteers from Aseema teach art, craft and handicraft to MRV children. In December this year, the MRV children organized an exhibition where they displayed and sold their wares. An amazing feat at such a tender age! The day was celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ and children from MRV put up cultural performances where the keyboard and flute performances stole the show.

"Apni toh paathshala, masti ki paathshala! "

Student's chill out. While the parents entertain the Teachers!

Unlike other schools where the students put up a show for the teachers, MET Rishikul Vidyalalya celebrates Teacher's day with a difference. Every year on September 5 the parents put up a variety entertainment show for the teachers and staff.

"Three cheers to our school management who have given us parents a free hand to organise and execute the event" says Manoj Mehta, a Rishikul parent. "The warmth shown by the teachers and the management has motivated us to set aside time from our busy schedules and contribute to this event. From conceptualising the event to execution, the entire event is handled by parents " he continues.

"Friends, philosopher, guide. The teachers influence the lives of our children. It was our turn to make them feel special. The show is just a small expression to thank the teachers and staff for all the efforts they take to groom our children." beams Sonia, another Rishikul parent.

The programme ends with a 'sharing and meeting' session where parents, staff, teachers and trustees formed groups and share their experiences with each other and embrace the goodness in each other's self. Truly a wonderful day for the one and all, this function will be a pleasant unique experience to everyone who will attend it. While observing them practice, the one thing that is contagious is the spirit of love and unending enthusiasm that propels these parents forward.

Programme Highlights (2006) :

  1. Master of Badhia Badhia Satsangs - A play that is a spoof on Munnabhai MBBS
  2. Couple dances – spoof on a popular dance show
  3. Group dances
  4. Individual performances like mimes, solo acts etc.
  5. Condemnation of the Mumbai blasts through a specially organised act
