MMS - AAROHAN 2013-15

The Induction program was organized for the first year MMS students from 1st August to 11th August, 2013. The entire batch of 181 students were invited for the program which was planned in order to give them an idea about the MMS program of the Mumbai university and the various opportunities they will be getting being a part of MET Institute of Management.

The induction program consisted of two phases, an Inbound Aarohan session and an outbound session at the Rambhau Mhalje Prabhodhini in Uttan.

The students reported directly at the MET Connvention Centre on 1st of August, the session began with the inauguration speech by Mr. Vivek Kamath, COO, Wockhardt Hospital. He inspired the students with his speech, which gave the students a perspective to prepare for the future. After the inauguration Ms. Gladys Vaz, Consultant, Ex-HR Head, Larsen & Toubro shared her insight about the current industry scenario, and the corporate expectations. Later in the day Mr. Pradeep Tandon, Executive Director, Bajaj Electricals Ltd. enlightened the students by sharing some of his experiences from the corporate world.

Dr. Vijay Page, Director General, MET Institute of Management gave a brief about the academic year 2012-2013 and introduced the MET faculty to the students. Following which Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, MMS Course Co-ordinator congratulated the students for getting into MET and gave them the code of conduct expected from them.

Mr. Manish Oberoi, Chief Manager, Brand & Marketing, Reliance Capital and Mr. Yash Paleja, India Head, Operations, HDFC Realty Ltd. also proud MET Alumni, gave a brief about their journey in and outside MET. They spoke about “How to convert weakness into strength with some anecdotes”. The students received a very different experience during the Mind Mapping seminar by Mr. Dharmendra Rai, NLP Expert & Corporate Trainer. Mr. Gautam Gulati, COO, KIAH Jewels & MET Alumni, assisted the students by giving them the various ways which will lead them to success in their future. The students were also blessed with the presence and the keen sights of Mr. Girish Dandige, Program Director TCS, Ex- CIO Tata Infotech; Ms. Aparna Sharma, Country Head, Lafarge India; Mr. Santosh Hulagabadi, Gold Medalist, Master of Library & Information Sciences; Mr. Bikash Bannerjee, Founder & CEO, Repotoire Media, Mr. Kunal Thakker, Associate Concept Head, Percept D’Mark (MET Alumni). The students received great insights about the industry by interacting with them.

The students were given a brief foundation course about the various subjects of management before they were all taken to the outbound session for the HR activities. Students were divided in batches of 60 each and were taken to Uttan for the 2day/1 night trip. The outbound session was conducted by Mr. Bhushan Lawande, Founder and CEO of ‘E4’ and his associates. The entire program was facilitated by MET MMS second year student volunteers managed by Mr Susanta Badatya.
