MET Alumni Meet 2009 - Pharmacy
MET Institute of Pharmacy organised the Alumni Meet on January 03, 2009. This meet was inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee – MET, Dr. U B Hadkar, Director – MET IOP, Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal – MET IOP (degree), Mr. S D Bhosale, Principal – MET IOP (diploma), Dr. Anand Shedge, Director – MET IMS and all the faculty and staff of MET IOP.
Sense of belonging and cohesiveness was so strong that alumni flew in all the way from Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Mississippi besides India. Not only numerous students enthusiastically participated in the meet, but also the former faculty and staff members came to be a part of it. Few of the global alumni were:

- Ms. Soumya Suvarna from New York (MS in Biotech)
- Dr. Upendra Argikar (MS, USA)
- Mr. Aneesh Argikar (MS, USA)
- Mr. Andrea Nelson (Research Scientist at N.J.)
- Mr. Clive Mendonca (PhD at Mississippi)
- Ms. Shilpa Vishwanathan (employed in USA)
- Ms. Pallavi Rane (MS, USA)
In order to recognise the significant contribution that these sharp minds have made to the respective fields, last 10 batches of alumni were felicitated on this occasion. A unique platform was created from which former and current students could mutually benefit. On one hand alumni got to interact formally and informally with current students, turning the atmosphere nostalgic. On the other hand alumni shared their rich academic, research and industry knowledge with current students, value adding to their intellectual wealth. Dr. Upendra Argikar talked on ‘Research on various fields of Pharmacy’; Paresh Jain, Jigar Lodharia and Shail Dholabhia spoke on ‘Pharma marketing in India’; Nitesh Kumar Dixit enlightened on ‘Prospects in hospital administration in India’; Vishal Mehta shed light on ‘Management studies in the USA’ and Prajakta Niphadhkar discussed on ‘Prospects in M Pharm Science in India’.
Trustee – MET, launched MET IOP alumni website that will now allow the Alumni to communicate with their Alma Mater on a mouse click. Music session was enjoyed by all followed by dinner that refreshed their memories. Everyone left with the promise of returning to such meets in tshe future. Welcome home.
