‘Lumiere 2010’ @ MET
The annual tradition at MET IOP – ‘Lumiere’ was celebrated this year with a magnificent display of lights, talents and finery. To describe Lumiere, it is nothing but an exhibit of multi-talent in various fields of arts, dance, singing, skills etc. A symposium for all the students of MET IOP to come together and interact with each other, so as to take a break from the year long studies. This year Lumiere was held on 26 and 27th February 2010. The first day saw an exodus of competitions like T-shirt painting, graffiti making, rangoli designing etc. Also, the faculty at MET IOP participated in the various events held for them with ebullient enthusiasm. Underlining the adage ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’! In the evening the students and the faculty bid farewell to the final year METizens wishing and hoping for nothing but the best for them in the years to come. The second day began with a host of events like face painting, tattoo making etc. Also the singing competitions displayed all the amazing singers in the making. The formal function began in the evening where all the dignitaries including the Founder Trustee CA. Sunil G. Karve, Trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Director of IOP - Dr. U.B. Hadkar, Principal (Degree) - Dr. Abha Joshi, Principal (Diploma) - Mr. S. D. Bhosale exchanged words of wisdom and advice with the students. This was followed by the launch of the annual magazine – ‘The Nest’. The occasion of Lumiere 2010 was also used to felicitate all the students, faculty, staff who deserved accolades in the fields of academics, sports and cultural activities throughout the year at MET IOP. The festival concluded with various dance performances and unique items by the students.
