Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Challenges
MET held a Personality Development programme for the Final Year B. Pharm students on 19th March, 2014. The workshop, which was conducted by Mrs. Dipti Nathani of Encso HR solutions Ltd aimed to help the students face, meet and overcome the challenges of the outside world more effectively and efficiently.
Since the final year students were all set to enter the professional pharma world, Mrs. Dipti guided them on professional etiquette and mannerisms. She stressed on the importance of a positive attitude and a calm and composed mindset. She shared her expertise on how to prepare for job interviews and the differences between resume, CV and biodata. To overcome stage fright and fear of public speaking, students were asked to introduce themselves to the class. She conducted "Role Play” - an important technique for preparing for difficult conversations and situations, where students were asked to answer questions extemporaneously. She also advised the students on how to withstand interview and work pressure.
Each student benefitted from the programme in several ways. Students got the opportunity to explore the other side of their personality, discover their inner selves and realize what it is that they really want. But the most important thing was that the workshop created an overall feeling of well being and confidence amongst the students, preparing them to stand apart from the crowd and make a mark in the industry.
